Almost Spring in Marin

What a beautiful, almost spring weekend in Northern California. This is my favorite time of year, with all the pretty flowers blooming, lush green hillsides and air that’s so fresh…ahh. Puts a smile on my face! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend as well.

A photo I took of my spring flowers in the front yard. So exciting now that they’re finally blooming!

Since it was such a gorgeous Sunday, I went out with my partner to the Olema Inn and Restaurant in West Marin. The Olema Inn is one of the most beautiful historic hotels in the county. We had a wonderful brunch. It’s one of my top favorite places to eat because of its ambiance. I love the decor, both interior and exterior.

Inside I am drawn to the nice decorative touches from the wooden floating shelf with many antique mixers, to the high ceiling with crown molding. The original but remodeled hardwood flooring is 100 years old. I think it’s just so wonderful that they kept the original hardwood – just so much character.

A picture of the floating built-in cabinet with a cute display of antique mixers…just so so cute!

A little close up.

I want to start adopting hanging traditional framed wall art. Each piece is hung on the crown molding with metal chains and hooks. It’s nice seeing other options when displaying wall art, and these would be perfect for a traditional home.

Just wanted to offer some design inspiration and a look into one of my favorite restaurants in West Marin. For more information on the Olema Inn check out their website. Also, if you’re on the hunt and looking for a beautiful wedding venue, this location is a wonderful place to keep in mind. A couple of past weddings that were held there looked so intimate and truly remarkable.
