DIY: Antique Frames & Mirrors

You can easily bring new life to old picture frames by having custom mirrors cut to fit them. My girlfriend and I last week took her two antique frames into Dotto glass, here in Marin to have them custom fit. Most glass stores will help custom fit anything you want if you give them the right measurements. We had them install the mirrors inside the frames so they were customized correctly. They do charge to install but I personally rather have them install the mirror and not risk having the mirror fall out and have shattered glass everywhere or potentially hurt myself.
Here are the before and after pictures:

So if you have beautiful frames and your not sure what you want to do with them, have custom mirrors installed. I thought my girl’s turned out great.

More Inspiration!

  • The other night my girlfriend and I worked on fixing her mirrors we picked out together at Target recently. This was a fun simple project that turned into a bit of a disaster. Here is what happened to our mirror project.
