On Monday I spent the afternoon at the Galleria Coup d’état & stopped by the new Big Daddy’s location in San Francisco with some good designer friends of mine. It’s always nice going over to the SF design district for inspiration while catching up with some of my friends.
Coup d’état is a home decor shop close to the San Francisco Design Center in the design district. It is owned and operated by Darin Geise. Darin is known by many for his design presentation at the 2009 SF Decorator Showcase House. Coup d’état is in my opinion the hippest home decor store in San Francisco. Coup D’Etat is known for eccentric and quirky design pieces. The presentation within the store is so amazing. The store is very modern yet offers a lot of warm characteristics that I find very appealing. Coup D’Etat has antiques, unique pieces, and found objects from all parts of the globe. Many found objects have been re-purposed into light fixtures, side tables and accessories. They also have a line of programmed, made to order furnishings.
Coup D’Etat has a website where many of the items in the store can be purchased. Items such as the Double Gourd Jar Lamps from China really caught my eye. Another really interesting item is the “Trio of Sheep”. It’s a very unique piece. Check out Coup D’Etat today.
Not sure still why I am so drawn to this piece of art, It’s dark & alluring.
Love these faux animal heads.

Big Daddy’s Antiques is a relatively new addition in the design world of San Francisco. If you are looking for the best in design and want to create an impression then I highly recommend a trip to Big Daddy’s. Big Daddy’s is known for their SoCal location as well as for being present at some of the biggest CA flea markets such as the Alameda Flea Market and the Rose Bowl.
Their custom table and cabinets are amazing and are offered in a wide range of patterns and patinas. The light fixtures of Big Daddy’s are the coolest with their antique parts. Big Daddy’s Antiques is at 1550 17th Street San Francisco.
So, if you’re ever in the San Francisco, I would highly recommend stopping in Coup D’ Etat & Big Daddy’s Antiques.
