Natural area rugs are a nice addition to any contemporary or modern home. Here are some examples of Eco-friendly rugs that can add chic texture and warmth to any home or office.

Animal hide: In contemporary decor there is a wide selection of natural, synthetic and also faux area rugs. Specialist suppliers will offer stylish hides including cowhide skins, sheepskin, eel-skin, zebra skin, Mongolian lamb, rabbit fur rugs. These faux or real animal hides are great for bean bags, cushions and many area rugs. They add great texture to a room.

Seagrass: rugs are made from marine grass. The fibers are thick, flat, smooth and very durable. These rugs have a latex backing and don’t need a separate rubber mat underneath. Another great part of these area rugs are they are biodegradable & resists moisture well.

Coir: Coir is 100% natural fiber made from husks of coconuts.

Sisal: area rugs derived from agave, the same plant that makes natural sweetener and some high quality tequillas. The fiber is commonly blended together with wool.

Jute: rugs are very durable and add a chic look to any contemporary space. If you want to add a rustic or country style, you can’t go wrong. These rugs come in many different styles and most are 100% all natural materials. These are some of the softest materials available today and that’s why they’re pretty popular to use in a bedroom or low volume traffic areas.

Wool: area rugs are a nice touch on contemporary style. There are a great way to warm up hardware floors, tiles, concert and marble flooring. The nice part about these rugs is that they come in a variety of styles & sizes. They work well in any room you desire to have them in.

Bamboo: area rugs is an ecological and environmentally friendly way to decorate your floors. A great thing about bamboo is that is grows extremely fast about 10 feet per year. The main source where there grown is in the Anji Mountains. A good thing to keep in mind is that there is no threat to pandas and their habitat. Bamboo area rugs add a nice touch to any modern home.
There is also bamboo shag area rugs. They’re soft, luxurious and said to be silkier than traditional wool shag rugs. These rugs are a blend of 80% bamboo & 20% cotton. The cotton percentage helps keep the threads stay together. Another great thing about having bamboo area rugs in your home is that it is a hypo-allergenic & has very little shedding.
