When I think of pineapples in decorating I always think about Tommy Bahamas! Apparently it’s now making a comeback in the design world, oh boy. I have to admit that I am not a big fan of pineapples used in design. The pineapple was a celebrity fruit of Colonial America, it was put on a pedestal for festivals. This fruit was considered a status fruit, a favorite in decorative motifs, architectural, sculpted building, painted on furniture and on woven tiles. This special fruit has it’s history and is making it’s way back into interior design. Here are some photos of pineapples in recent design.
