We decided to try this set with the cooling comforter, and I'm so glad we did. The cooling effect is fantastic - if you get warm, pretty much any movement will find you in a cool spot. The material is very comfortable to sleep on - I was worried after only using cotton sheets for years, but it is lovely. The actually stays on the mattress and the pillowcases have a wonderful retention flap to keep your pillow covered.
